SUMMARY

Propolis is a resin mixture that honeybees manufacture and use to seal holes and cracks in the hive. It is a made from the combination of the buds of conifer and poplar trees, beeswax, and other bee secretions. The use of propolis dates back to ancient Greece and ancient Egypt where it was used as a topical healing agent.

Today, we know that propolis is a potent source of flavonoids, a type of antioxidant.
